Using a variety of media (charcoal, pastels, pen & ink, pencil) with still lifes and photos for inspiration. Students with little experience are welcome as are accomplished artists. An informal class with a new still life each week. Students with little experience are as welcome as are accomplished artists. Instructor: Alex Forbes was born in Scotland, graduated from Twickenham Art College in London and worked for the BBC before moving to the US. His artwork has been exhibited at the Chestnut Hill and Hahn galleries among others, as well as in private collections. Alex has been teaching at the Center for Enrichment over 16 years, and also has classes at The Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia’s Bourse Building.
Creative Craft Group
The community for everyone who sews, beads, paints, quilts or uses any other means to create gift items for the CHCE to sell, and for donation to charitable organizations. Materials provided. Fees and donations not requested from participants.
Knit-wit and Crochet Group
Fridays, 1:30 – 3:00 PM, year-round at the CHCE
From novices to those with much experience using yarn, hooks and needles, everyone is invited to work on their own projects, or knit and crochet for a cause (for example – creating hats & scarves for the Seamen’s Church Institute, blankets for The Linus Project, caps for preemies, and the like). CHCE provides the yarn to those whose handiwork will be donated to “a cause”. $1 – $2 donations the Center accepted from participants.
